AND INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE EMPOWERMENT.
IN SUPPORT OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES RIGHTS
TO EXPRESS THEIR CULTURE AND
FOR HEALING BETWEEN ALL
CULTURES AND PEOPLES.

It's Time To:

Drone together and renew the dreaming.
Respect and support the indigenous peoples of Australia
Thank them for the gift of the Didgeridoo and how it has touched our lives.

Support and honour the reconciliation process, the essential healing between
our modern world and the indigenous peoples.

On a large scale, renew the singing of the songlines, by playing in honouring of earth and all life. Celebrating firstly the land we each live on, our wider earth home and especially at this time, Australia, the Indigenous peoples and the animal, tree, plant and insect people.

IMAGINE ..................

The whole world will be attuned to Australia and the Olympic Games in the year 2000 and the sound of the Didgeridoo will be heard on every T.V. around the globe. In each capital city around the globe large groups will gather to play didg at a certain time as part of " Didgin Around the Globe", and will appear on   evening news and be seen in the paper. Many will be  will be touched by the gatherings of players linking up around the world. The didg’s natural ability to stir soulful feelings will make this a powerfulll event helping to raise the earth's vibration at a crucial turning point in humanity’s history. The beginning of a new Millenium and the celebration of Olympic Spirit in a country that by its strong indigenous and multicultural roots represents the hopes of a peaceful and harmonious world.

From what I’ve seen in Australia and heard is happening overseas there are existing groups and networks of didg players in most cities so it's getting this info to the right folk. However if we go a step further and each put our creativity behind it ,making it quite an event in our city or area we’ll surely see the power of how big an event globally this could become!

"Didgin Around the Globe"
is a joint vision of what we can do as a mob of players of all creeds and cultures,
calling for earth caring through the simple statement of - playing the Didgeridoo.

 Hi Folks  ,   Didgin Around the Globe is  soon to happen and heres an update
This  is an organic  happening  that has been passed by word of mouth around the globe. There is no expectation as to how big it is or how noticeable or how focused it is as an event. Some people  are  going to   didg on by themselves, some didg players  are getting together to jam and  other groups are focusing  it  and letting the media know about it. However it is for you is fine . If you'd like to be involved or support,   make time to play didg on the day or contact your friends and get together  for a jam. It doesn't have to be only didg players . Get in touch with your  friends and have a music night  and give some time to appreciate the drone of the didg and the gifts of the indigenous peoples.

How often do we stop to give thanks for  the simple gifts of others  and of life? This can  be great opportunity to take that time.

A time to reflect on   our natural world and   the gifts of  indigenous peoples and how important it is ;  as Mandaway Yunipinga from Yothu Yindi  sais to sing  love songs to the land. Yothu Yindi's  songs are just that, as  are the old traditional songs of his people  , and he encourages us all to find ways to sing love songs to the land. 

A didg jam worldwide can help us  open to the connectedness and  clarity  of the wise men and women who sung the songlines,  spirit  travelling and connecting up with others  and all life along the songlines.  I know via my own didging experiences and   confirmed by hearing of so many folks experiences that didg supports  us releasing our  normal mind constuct and opens us  to journeying in spirit realms. Whether  journeying  with  our imagination   ,whether experiencing an altered state or  whether  through having a strong feeling experience brought about by the  healing  and evocative power of the drone; there is  either by accident or intent  the potential for  powerfull didg playing experiences to  happen.

As  westerners   we often feel imprisoned by dogmatic structure  and conditioning, and the  openesss and  never ending  possibilities of didg playing  give us much enjoyment. It seems theres no right or wrong way to play and we can  explore our own  individual expression through it. This is definately  one of didgs special gifts

Indigenous people aside from journeying with didg for enjoyment  embodied its power in creating  and  supporting sacred space and ritual. Through this, didg was used with focused intent to enpower ritual and healing . 

As with the spoken word -our creative force, didg  is an extension of this and  so a magnifyer.  I've heard it said that whale song   is consciously focused by these wise loving beings as a song of love of the planet; that  they on another dimension  as to spirit  sing life into the biosphere, and support life  on our planet. Is that  what we  are  needing to remember , how to be consious caretakers -again. When we  focus our playing in a positive way it  supports or magnifyers our intention , as long as we   embody  it  with our  genuine feelings . If  we  focus it negatively the same applies but so does the boomerang factor that  what we put out returns to us. So playing didg  with focused intent  like any ritual space  is something to be respected not played with lightly. As with the whales and  aboriginal people, it helps us realize  that there can be  a lot of  good that can come from what may seem to be a simple act.

So in good intent,then  lightness and enjoyment and respect   is  natural. There is always the dance between respect/sacredness  and lightness/laughter. One doesn't have to be serious, remembering that its  our feelings that ultimately  are the magnet in us that bring to life what we desire. Our mind helps , its our servant not our master. So  I offer to  realize the potential of getting together and playing didg   with focused intent whilst being in the simplicity of the enjoyment of just getting together for a jam. How you journey with it from one  potential to the other or by exploring both is up to you. As with didg  I see theres no right or wrong. We all offer a beautifull piece of the puzzle in our playing and sharing, and so with our  part in Didgin Around the Globe.

When the idea for "Didgin Around ther Globe "  came to mind  there were grand pictures as to how big it would and could be. They  are still present and yet   over time  it has had its own life. I've had to let go  of my own investments as to my input and trust its own way. Its always been passed on as a  people led happening and so  what we've all done that has brought it to   now. In recent times I've heard back from groups getting together in Europe , America , Canada, Australia  and  also from indivduals in  other parts of the world.

With  about 3 weeks to go, the power of word of mouth  is a happening.

So  all power to you  in  passing the word. 

For simplicity we are jamming   at a time suitable  in our respective  places across the globe. In a future event  we will link up as to an exact time.  It is often said that in spirit, time does not exist so in our playing we can  be with the picture of  others worldwide playing at the same time or imagine the  didg droning like waves connecting up  and so encircling the earth together.

As to a suggested format or process to follow, primaringly I suggest and affirm that if you'd like some structure then  enpower your  group to create together ,or yourself to facilitate as you desire.

As to a suggested approach   and  perhaps what  our group will be doing ;  the following may help. 

We are inviting  not only didg players; so we  may start the evening  with a general jam musically as it unfolds with didg and other instruments; and then at a time set or appropriate we'll gather in a circle and  perhaps use a  tone from one  didg ( overtone ) to bring the focus  together, then open up the circle to  anyone that wants to share,  what it means to them to play in thankfullness  of the didg, perhaps what their hopes and desires are for our planet, perhaps  a sharing about or a prayer for indigenous peoples.  When everyone  that wants to speak has spoken then via one person  we'll offer a group intent or prayer offering to unite all sharings and focus the circle(  which may include acknowledgment of linking up with  all the other  folk playing around the globe). Then  the didgs will come  in and  travel with our sharings and enpower them. It may be offered that anyone that  doesn't play didg , may like to tone or omm along  or after awhile as they desire.

Although it would be nice to all be in key, it,  besides being  generally impracticle,  will be fine in acknowledging  indivduals  within a circle. If your getting together in a small group you may like to  key   alike .

Its  going to be a buzz to  be didging together !
